A far more fascinating story than I expected. I grabbed several boxes when the sky started falling in; definitely going to have to make some for lunch tomorrow.
I once ordered it for lunch at some hippy restaurant in Louisville, only to discover the reason they had the name in quotes was it was actually cheese and cauliflower, which I absolutely despise.
Give me Kraft, please.

That cauliflower shit is the WORST. I managed to accidentally get gluten free frozen macaroni and cheese once and I couldn’t finish it.

I wanted that for lunch but we didn’t have any noodles. I made pancakes and fried eggs instead.

Add bacon or broccoli for added flavour.

I might just have to do that. (The bacon, not the broccoli, obvs)

Its certainly one of the great levelers. Along with Coca-Cola, no matter how rich and powerful you are, you can't buy a better Coke than the average Joe on the street.

I love breakfast for any meal, so that gets a big thumbs up from me.
I managed to summon the fire department last weekend preparing bacon and eggs......

I make some fancy mac and cheese, I start with Annie’s white cheddar packages and add real cheese and truffle infused olive oil. If I’m lucky I get lobster or crab.

True, but I’ve been surprised in the past how some restaurants seem to consistently have better Coke, before I switched to diet.
White Castle, Steak & Shake (RIP), and McD’s do a good job.
Conversely I once grabbed a meal at a diner in Portland that only served RC. Ugh.

If I had a million dollars we wouldn’t have to eat Kraft dinner
(But we would eat Kraft dinner)
(Of course we would, we’d just eat more)
(And buy really expensive ketchups with it)
(That’s right, all the fanciest dijon ketchups, hmm)

See, I’ve never found a Mac & cheese I like better than Kraft straight from the box.
My mother has the most limited palate of anyone I’ve ever met, so I guess I inherited some of that. Same two toppings on any pizza, always.

There is something good about an old box of yellow mac and cheese.

Hah!
Bacon, eggs, hash browns, sausage, biscuits with gravy, and some pancakes. One of my favorite anytime meals!

Just a comparison, nobody’s going to complain about being served Kraft mac and cheese, I don’t care how rich they are.
And there is a reason for the Coke taste thing. McDonalds gets their syrup packaged in stainless steel tanks instead of the usual bag-in-box, and they have a special water filtration system for their soda fountains. It’s going to taste better there than basically any place outside one of Coke’s own PR venues.

I make a guac and jalapeńo mac and cheese deal from scratch. I make it infrequently as it requires a small fortune in various fahncy cheeses.

Before they shut down, I was getting crab/lobster enchiladas every other day from a local joint. So goddamn good.

It’s “Kraft Dinner” you heathens!

When I was a kid, mac and cheese was my absolute favorite. Maybe oddly, there was a secondary brand I liked more than Kraft, I think this product was discontinued by 90s:
I have Kraft maybe just a few times a year anym ore, but there’s something about that yellow and the tang, if properly prepared (must be a firm al dente). For adult macaroni, the big Beechers tray at Costco is good, unique bite to it, fair price for a fancier product, and the package can last a few days.

Sometimes I’ll keep a little dish of bacon fat off to the side of the oven .
#b etter than butter

Baked macaroni is where it’s at!
There is that occasional craving that only Kraft can satisfy though...

I’m convinced that McDonald’s puts nicotine in their Diet Coke. That’s the only explanation as to why my wife likes it so much more than regular coke. And why she is basically addicted to it. Even if she has cans at home, or has had coffee at work.
